Descrizione album

Nel 1951 Hemingway scrisse il "Il vecchio e il mare", un'odissea emotiva con molto spazio per l'interpretazione, sentimenti profondi, sensazioni e desideri. 70 anni dopo, il compositore di Lipsia Jochen Tiberius Koch tenta di abbozzare esperimenti acustici ispirati al capolavoro di Hemingway, con l'aiuto dell'incantevole voce di Smilla. Ogni brano in sé è una simbiosi di malinconia, dolore, forza e risveglio. Di punto in bianco sorge l'energia, che finalmente sfocia in sollievo. Koch ci sta portando in un mondo di dolore e privazione. Lo seguiamo attraverso tempeste e dubbi, nell'oscurità. Mentre ancora gustiamo il sale sulle nostre labbra, i primi raggi di luce compaiono sulla superficie del mare, finché non si vede brillare l'orizzonte abbagliante. Con il cuore che batte e senza fiato rimaniamo in pace e contentezza.

"Old Man and the Sea" is the new album by Jochen Tiberius Koch, German composer and musician. The work is available on all Digital Streaming Platforms, on the site of Blue Spiral Records and Limited Edition Vinyl.

Album description

In 1951 Hemingway wrote his "The Old Man and the Sea", an emotional odyssey with much room for interpretation, deep feelings, sensations and longings. 70 years later, the Leipzig based composer Jochen Tiberius Koch is trying to sketch acoustic experiments of Hemingway's masterpiece, with the help of Smilla's enchanting voice. Each track in itself is a symbiosis of melancholy, pain, strenghth and awakening. Out of the blue rises energy, which finally flows into relief. Koch is taking us into a world of pain and deprivation. We follow him through storms and doubts, into darkness. While we still taste the salt on our lips, the first rays of light appear on the surface of the sea, until one sees the dazzling horizon glowing. With beating hearts and out of breath we remain in peacefulness and contentment.
